Essential Oil Composition and Antioxidant and Antifungal Activities of Two Varieties of Ocimum basilicum L. (Lamiaceae) at Two Phenological Stages

Ocimum basilicum is a valuable source of bioactive metabolites with high preventive and therapeutic effectiveness. Here we aimed to investigate the effect phenological stages (vegetative flowering stages) on essential oil composition biological activities two varieties O. (Fino Verde variety Genovese varieties). To this end, level oils, flavonoids phenols, as well antioxidant antifungal were measured. At metabolic level, at vegetative stage bailicum Fino was constituted by 22 26 compounds representing 71.68% 82.54% total oil, respectively. Where germacrene D (10.07%), bicyclogermacrene (6.07%) ?-elemene (4.88%) most present components in variety. Moreover, 22.19% are oxygenated monoterpenes represented mainly linalool (15.18%) 1.8 cineole (6.36%) The individuals oils significantly increased 40 (98.01% oil) decreased 15 (95.6% stage. stage, (78.4%) major fraction (40.1%) (30.96%) variety, however 64.69% esters which methyl cinnamate (64.69%), 16.83% Linalool (12.7%) recorded for showed highest levels both compared activities.
